2020 benefits options for employees
LCRA provides a competitive benefits program for employees that includes medical, prescription drug, legal, dental, vision and security benefits. You can also sign up for health care and dependent care flexible spending accounts to save money on your taxes. View premiums.
UnitedHealthcare Choice and Choice Plus – LCRA pays the majority of your total monthly medical premium. Compare the plans and choose the option that is right for you and your family. You won’t receive a new card from UHC for medical and prescription drug coverage unless you make a change or are new to the plan.

Virtual Visits offers 24-hour telemedicine support from the comfort of your home and the copay is now $0.
Spine and Joint Solution connects you with a dedicated team to help you understand treatment choices, where to go for care and potentially lower out-of-pocket costs.

Tobacco users who complete the free Quit for Life program by Nov. 30, 2020, will be reimbursed for the $75 per month fee.
|Prescription drug insurance||
Employees who enroll in an LCRA group medical plan automatically receive prescription coverage through OptumRx, a UHC company.
The plan categorizes prescription drugs into three pricing tiers, with additional tiers for specialty drugs. Review the pricing tiers and copays. UHC provides a prescription drug list that shows the pricing tiers for the most commonly prescribed medications. It’s organized by the type of medication so you and your doctor can see all the covered medications for specific conditions. If you are now taking a medication that is excluded in 2020 and there is no reasonable covered alternative, it will be grandfathered into your 2020 prescription coverage.
For your convenience, you can fill a 90-day supply of maintenance prescriptions at a retail pharmacy. The cost would be the equivalent of paying for three months.
You also have the option to save money by filling prescriptions via mail-order.
Dental insurance through MetLife covers preventive care at 100 percent when you use a network dentist. Choose when to schedule four preventive cleanings within the calendar year. The calendar year maximum benefit is $2,000. View a summary of the plan benefits. You won’t receive a dental insurance ID card. Your employee ID number is your insurance member ID; your dentist will call MetLife to verify coverage.
Dental information is also available through the MetLife mobile app.
Vision insurance through EyeMed includes coverage for eye exams, frames, lenses and contacts. Two plans are available.
The standard plan offers a maximum frames allowance of $125 every 24 months and lenses every 12 months. Choose contact lenses in lieu of the eye glass lenses and frames benefit at $120 per year. Participants pay a $10 copay for an eye exam once every 12 months.
The enhanced plan offers a maximum frames allowance of $150 every 12 months on lenses and frames. Choose contact lenses in lieu of the eye glass lenses and frames benefit at $150 per year. Participants pay a $0 copay for an eye exam once every 12 months.
Participants won’t receive a vision insurance ID card. Your optometrist will call EyeMed to verify coverage.
|Prepaid legal plan||
ARAG offers two prepaid legal plans, Ultimate Advisor and Ultimate Advisor Plus. Both give you access to a national network of credentialed lawyers – you choose your lawyer. Most covered legal matters are 100-percent paid-in-full when you work with a network attorney. The plans also offer access to legal databases and other online and over-the-phone legal resources.
The Ultimate Advisor Plus plan also includes enhanced identity theft coverage, financial counseling, divorce representation and resources to help you with caregiving and eldercare issues.
|Flexible spending accounts||
Participate in one or both of the following flexible spending accounts to reduce your federal taxes. Navia administers both accounts.
Health Care FSA covers out-of-pocket medical expenses for you and your dependents. Pay for eligible medical expenses with the Navia debit card. Or, sync your Navia account to automatically receive and process insurance claims. Minimum annual contribution: $200. Maximum: $2,700.
Dependent Care FSA covers eligible dependent care services, such as preschool, summer day camp, before/after school programs and child or adult daycare. Minimum annual contribution: $200. Maximum: $5,000.
The annual contribution amounts are set by the IRS and are subject to change.
|Supplemental/dependent life and accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D) insurance||
Make changes to these benefits any time during the year. No action needed during annual benefits enrollment.
